Another beautiful morning at the Breathe Festival in Itacare today, May 24th, 2010 with the festival coming into its final days.

Sunday, May 23rd, saw a a great day of beach action at the Coroinha, with dozens of local children and young people playing beach volleyball and beach soccer with the Breathe participants. Drew Stevenson, General Manager of Breathe Foundation: “It was stunning to see so many of the local kids at the beach and enjoying playing in the sand Sunday morning. It was really fun for everybody sharing a meal together and sharing sports. Having Hannah the Mermaid turn up was a special and exhilarating moment for all of us who experienced it.”

Excited and inspired by the walk through the Rainforest a few days ago, the Breathe participants decided to plant more trees today in the area protected by ARFI, the Atlantic Rainforest Institution with work on the Foundation building being undertaken by participants.

The evening program will see another series of Breathe workshops presented by Swatch. Chris Bachmann, Founder of ARFI, the Atlantic Rainforest Institution, will give an insight into the work and objectives of ARFI in Itacare.

The second workshop will be held by Hannah Fraser, the Australian mermaid actress and activist who is absolutely stunned to be here. Hannah will talk about her ocean conservation and marine mammal protection work  she does all around the world. “Coming here and supporting the Breathe Festival is a real honour. I have had such a lovely time yesterday with the children at Coroinha beach and sharing my love with them.”

Moving into it's last couple of days, the Breathe/Respira Brazil event 2010 wraps up on Tuesday the 25th of May. After an incredible 10 day program and with over 100 international participants including athletes, artists, musicians, press and documentary crews, a wide range and variety of programs were visited and experienced.

The documentary crew have posted day edits from almost every major program undertaken during the event. See all of the day edits and a description of what was happening HERE. Also a new GALLERY section has been added to the site.

The Breathe Foundation and organizers would like to thank all of the volunteers, participants, sponsors and local supporters for their help in making this edition of Breathe happen. Work on the documentary will start in Europe over the summer, due for release in October 2011.
