The European Outdoor Association (EOCA) reminds all parties or organizations involved in conservation projects that the EOCA Grant Application deadline for the 2012 - 2013 round finishes Wednesday, the 30th of November, 2011, a process where up to 30,000 Euro can be allocated for approved conservation projects.

The EOCA, who recently change their name from the EOG Association for Conservation, is a 70 member group that is open to any company operating within the outdoor industry, whether they are a manufacturer, supplier, service provider or retailer etc. One hundred per cent of membership fees go directly into the projects that are nominated by and voted for by the members themselves.

Who can Apply?

Non profit organizations can apply to the Association for grants of up to €30,000. Members of the European Outdoor Conservation Association can nominate up to three projects (from different, or the same organisations) each year.

Deadline for applications for 2012/13 projects (chosen Spring 2012) is November 30th 2011.

How to Apply

If you are a conservation organization looking for funding, please contact one of our members to see if they would be willing to nominate your project. If you do not know anyone... please apply directly to us and we will lodge your project in a ‘bank’ that our members all have access to and can choose to support. Funding for the chosen projects will be available from April 2012, so please reflect that in the timings in your application. What are we looking for? A nature conservation project which can ideally be started and completed within a time frame of 1-2 years. Please read the following carefully before you submit your application form to the Association. It will help you understand the types of nature conservation projects we are looking for and the information we need from you.

In 2010 the Breathe Foundation  in conjunction with local NGO the Atlantic Rainforest Institute (AFRI) implemented a reforestation project with support of a grant from the European Outdoor Conservation Association.

The grant was fundamental to the ability of the foundation to engage in direct reforestation, the construction of the AFRI Institute building using recycled materials and the implementation of education and management programs.
