CRÈME Skate Bowl to be Donated to the Community of Itacare 17th of May

The CRÈME Bowl being built on Itacaré's scenic Tiririca beach, one of the best surf breaks in town, is heading into it's third week of construction and is nearing completion. The skate infrastructure, designed by Stefan Hauser of Placed to Ride and managed by Max Häring, build as part of the Breathe/Respira Brazil event is set to be inaugurated and donated to the local community of Itacaré on Wednesday the 19th of May 2010.
A project initiated by the Breathe Foundation in partnership with the CRÈME Int. Corporation skate company is more than a simple donation, it forms part of a social and educational program for the kids in the local region. In addition to the Bowl itself, CRÈME Int. Corporation are leaving 40 complete skate set-ups redeemable for use by local students on receipt of good exam results, community service or by picking up and recycling trash from around town or local beaches.
Once a pipe dream for local surfers and skaters alike, the CRÈME Bowl has been specifically designed to provide lines similar to surfing with technical skate features including an Over Vert section, extension, love seat and waterfall.
The coping is already in for the whole pool, made possible by support from the Town Council of Itacaré, the ASI (Association do Surf Itacaré) and many hard working volunteers from the local community who have been putting in all night sessions to meet the hand over deadline. The CRÈME Bowl will be given a final polish by Billy the Artist who will be painting the bowl with students from the eight local schools before hand over.
Safety equipment including helmets, pads and guards have been generously donated and left for the community by TSG Products with Swatch providing prizes for the Best Line/Best Trick contest being held on Saturday the 22nd of May as part of the Breathe/Respira Brazil event.
