After twelve months of filming around the Globe, culminating at the BREATHE FESTIVAL in Santa Teresa, on the Nicoya Peninsula, costa Rica over the 22nd of February to 1st of March, 2009, the BREATHE documentary is due for release at the start of December.
The documentary examines many of the prevailing issues facing Humanity's accelerating exploitation of natural resources and interaction with the fragile ecosystems of our planet, while focusing on organizations and initiatives working to address them. Working with local organizations on the ground in the jungles of Costa Rica, to visiting event sites in Oslo, a music school in Sweden, a pro snowboarder and activist in Switzerland, to IMF meetings, inventors research and development laboratories, Wild Life Sanctuaries, Ibiza DJ's, to reforestation classes in local schools.
Culminating at the week long Breathe Festival in Santa Teresa, the documentary looks to raise awareness for issues on the ground while looking at these in terms of practical and actionable global initiatives. On a broader level, the documentary looks at common accepted norms and practices, their origins and the viability of their unquestioned ongoing implementation.
Taking a tone of common sense and practical demonstration rather than the pure scientific, it encourages the viewer to take the first and often most overlooked step - to take a second to stop. Breathe. Take a second to think, and take action.
