There is little introduction necessary for the Eco theme as there has been a very positive development in the mainstream media and even, to a point, the corporate world, finally giving it the attention that it deserves. However, the devastating effects of human impact on our only biosphere raises the question – is it too little too late. The environment and almost all of the World’s ecosystems are facing incredible stress – present efforts in reality are only scratching the surface. Yet from energy efficient construction, close system production, sustainable production processes, reforestation, clean water initiatives, alternative energy, to conservation projects, habitat protection program – and the list goes on – there are some very exciting areas to have a look and get involved with.
The Rainforest Action Network, or RAN.ORG call themselves "Envionmentalism with Teath" and teeth indeed they seem to have. Established in 1986, RAN.ORG have launched both peaceful champaignes while also began heavy, active protests at the same time.
